Angie Bimat received her BS-DH from Northern Arizona University and spent 25 years as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Los Angeles, California, and has been a practicing Myofunctional Therapist since 2013. After years of treating children and adults who were suffering the consequences of airway disorders, Angie was motivated to intervene earlier in order to prevent such problems. She continued her education with the University of California, San Diego in the field of lactation to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Her years spent in the oral healthcare field gives Angie a unique perspective on how to approach infants with restricted oral tissues - such as tongue ties - while educating and supporting parents on proper oral function and how it relates to healthy growth and development. In the past, lactation consultants felt success is reached with a proper latch and the transfer of milk, when in reality it is just the beginning of the journey.

Angie is a California native, and has lived in Los Angeles for over 25 years. She has three children and faced different breastfeeding challenges with each one. Although going through this at the time was very difficult, it has broadened her scope of understanding and empathy while counseling families who are having feeding difficulties.
